i was at the people's climate march in the city yesterday, and i decided to check the news today about it and idk why i'm surprised and disheartened by the number of people who still refuse to even consider the possibility of manmade climate change and call it an "environmentalist hoax"

even the petroindustry is owning up to our role in fucking up the planet, but some people still want to stick their heads in the sand

and what i really don't get is when you suggest small, basic things that ordinary folks can do to conserve resources and cut down on waste, they're still against it -- like how the fuck does it hurt you to use fewer plastic bags and bottles and turn the lights off when it's not necessary, and so on?
