anon she is someone who appreciates and has a long standing love of japanese culture and fashinon. ya there were aspects of the lamb back-up dancers that were problematic but its not like she was wandering around pulling her eyes in to slits. she even dedicated a song on the album to how much she loved harajuku style and the girls who dressed like that. no matter how ham-fisted, it was well meaning and intent is important.

furthermore, something having problematic elements does not diminish its artistic merit. heart of darkness is widely acknowledged as having racist elements, doesn't stop it from being one of the greatest pieces of literature in the english language. sit down or go back to tumblr.

i love gwen and agree that her solo work is great but you sound ridiculous... she literally wouldn't even let them talk and told interviews to pretend they weren't there when they wanted to ask the harajuku girls questions it was racist

i'm not even a tumblr sjw but i hate it when white people think they can do these sorts of things to asians and surprise, surprise, they can and they are successful with it. as an asian person, this is disgusting and insulting. idc what ~artistic merit~ she has bc the way she used and treated the harajuku girls is not right.
