i went backtracking and i can't believe the difference between how broduce almost completely took over meme vs pdx101's reception

S2 wasn't especially interesting but X has been a new level of boring. pm everyone they've pushed is personality free and haven't done anything of note performance wise either. and the few people with personality or interest points they did push got dropped instantly or kneecapped by edits (hyunbin, yuvin, tony). mnet set the stage with this too tho because they've always been stingy with praise edits for significant talents, whereas absolute messes and mediocrity doing slightly better than expected (Kim yongguk vocal position edit this is a call out) have gotten a heaping more season on season, plus 5 year contract, so of course the people sent are majority not ready to debut

And eunsang/hyeongjun/wonjin/jungmo/wooseok etc etc all seem incredibly resistant to the idea they be interesting in any way and the talent is not there to compensate. the final group is gonna be as if wanna one was just 5 jrs, 5 jihoons and a guanlin.

i'm a minkyu stan so i shouldn't be laughing but i instantly thought of him when you said a guanlin

i mean at least minkyu speaks korean ig

honestly i was rooting for yuvin and kookheon in the beginning because they were the only real standout talents imo but at this point i hope yuvin just gets to go back to his group with a little bit more publicity

sadly idt the show has been that popular to actually positively impact on myteen in any significant way but we'll see. the lineup isnt really salvageable at this point, especially with the x shit guaranteeing someone useless

imo mnet tried quite a bit with hyunbin and i srsly thought he was going to fthe inals, idk why his votes never improved. yuvin has tons of screentime his yuvin-ness is very overwhelming...
the only effective push is tony and it’s the most lackluster one too
