true but the conditions they filmed in were barbaric according to lee haein

The contestants were in the Gyeonggi English Village Yangpyeong Camp [site of filming] for the whole duration of show; weren’t let out even a day unlike PD101 where contestants get to go home; she assumed that was because the contestants weren’t in an agency and couldn't receive protection of an agency

The contestants could go to Olive Young [drugstore] once a month to get necessary items; contestants didn’t get anything to eat outside of mealtime; if they missed mealtime they couldn’t eat anything despite having a store in the Camp

Some contestants who went to school once or twice a month hid food in their clothes when they came back to the camp but that was also taken away at pat down

Yangpyeong is colder than Seoul and as filming was nearing the end, many of the contestants were suffering from the cold so they kept objecting to that; the crew let their parents send clothes to the camp; they insisted that the contestants can’t leave the camp at all

No human rights during filming; While the crew were ordering food, the contestants had to steal the leftovers and eat that.

While most of the contestants were underage, the crew didn’t comply with the shooting time

The studio [dorm] didn’t have any windows and some of the contestants ended up developing skin problems but they were forced to sleep in them; only after the participants complained they were moved to another dorm;
